Ryker was diagnosed with Dravet syndrome when he was 8 months old. It was a bittersweet moment for his parents, Erika and Ryan. Although they finally had a diagnosis, they were overwhelmed as they learned more and more about his diagnosis.
Erika says, “I’ve often contemplated how people I know have made it through hard times. I haven’t been in their shoes, but suspect it has something to do with their ability to choose joy. They find the silver lining, they make a concerted effort to find the good in all situations. In our journey with Ryker, he makes it easy to smile and laugh. He has giving our family a different perspective on life, to appreciate the small things and to not take life for granted.”
In January 2020, Rykers Rally started their #choosejoy fundraising efforts. We are thrilled to share that this amazing team has donated over $60,000 and counting to DSF.
From the entire Dravet community, thank you Rykers Rally for raising funds and spreading awareness of Dravet syndrome.
