James G. Brennan is the owner and President of McKelvey Homes, St. Louis’s oldest and most established homebuilding company. With more than 35 years of experience in real estate, construction and homebuilding, Jim is well-known for his community service and his activities on behalf of the homebuilding industry. He has worked in a host of political, civic, and charitable organizations and has helped raised millions of dollars for worthy causes over the years.
Jim’s great-niece, Anna, was diagnosed with Dravet syndrome in 2018 when she was 7 months old. Jim shares, “Our Dad always helped those in need by doing what he called, ‘favors’ for people. I have tried to follow his example. As you know I have helped raise funds for those in need for many years without knowing anyone personally benefiting. When I heard your call to action to help little Anna I knew I must do everything I can to help.
In 2019, Jim and his sister Kathy, siblings to Anna’s grandmother Pat, wanted to help and as a result organized the first Dance for Dravet in St. Louis. It was a great success and they raised over $183,000 for DSF. This year, Jim took the lead in organizing a 2ndDance for Dravet. Due to the COVID pandemic, the event has been postponed. In spite of this, Jim has helped raise over $170,000 and counting this year for DSF.
From the entire Dravet community, thank you Jim for raising funds and spreading awareness of Dravet syndrome.
