The County K-9’s 4-H Club in Luverne, MN, decided to have a Pizza Ranch Tip Night fundraiser for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation as one of their Community Pride Projects. This event took place on Monday, Nov. 10th, at the Luverne Pizza Ranch. We decided to do this for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation as Luella Johnson, a younger sibling of some of our club members, has Dravet Syndrome. Members and parents gathered a few weeks before the event to paint purple pumpkins to sell at the fundraiser to help raise epilepsy awareness. The night of the fundraiser, 26 club members and their parents worked various shifts at the Pizza Ranch cleaning tables, passing out Dravet Syndrome brochures & bracelets, and washing dishes! The Pizza Ranch donated a percent of their sales from dine-in, carry-out & deliveries that evening towards our fundraiser. We also had ‘tip jars’ set up for guests to make donations. Rock County Thrivent Chapter #30614 donated towards this fundraiser as well. Including the monies from the Thrivent Chapter and the Pizza Ranch, we are able to contribute $1,400 to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation from our Pizza Ranch Tip Night Fundraiser! We were blessed with a fun and very successful event that our 4-H club was happy to be a part of in order to help fund research as it is looking to find a cure for Dravet Syndrome!
