Hello. My name is Emilee, I am 11 years old, and I raised $250 for Dravet syndrome in honor of my cousin, Talia May. One day, I was searching through my art supplies when I stumbled across some beads and string I had used to make keychains. I had been looking for a way to help raise money for Talia and I realized selling these keychains would be a good way to start. This is when I came up with “Hope for Dravet”.
After going through a series of events, from selling keychains in my classroom to speaking with my principal and the Student Ambassadors. I talked about my “Hope for Dravet” project and later that week we all got together during lunch to make products. Our first sale was a hit! At the end of a few weeks, with the help of family and friends, we made almost $100. This was my first fundraiser and I will soon do more. It was so much fun to make and sell keychains and other products like origami, bookmarkers, and more. I hope I will inspire other people to do fundraisers for Dravet!
